Since the Province is moving to orange phase as of midnight tonight the rink building will be closed until our region is back in the yellow phase. The ice surface will still be maintained for anyone to use. We ask to please wear a mask and to please stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms or are required to self isolate. The rink will be opening for the season this Friday December 18th. We have new protocols in place due to COVID and are asking for everyone’s cooperation in order to be able to keep the building open for everyone to enjoy. We are asking to please not use the facility if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms, have been outside the Province, have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID or have been told by public health that you may have been exposed. Below are the new rules for the usage of the building.

Garbage normally collected on Friday December 25, 2020 will be collected on Monday December 21, 2020.
Recyclables normally collected on Friday January 1st will be collected Monday January 4, 2021
Collection will begin very early in the morning for both of those days.

Please note your garbage / recyclables will not be collected if they are not placed in a proper container.
Residents are allowed 2 containers for garbage and 2 for recycling per dwelling unit.
The container must be on wheels of any color other than blue for garbage and blue for recyclables, compatible to the lifting arm of the refuse truck with a maximum capacity of 360 litres (95 gallons) and weight not exceeding 250 pounds when full.
A reminder for this Friday, August 14th, is Recycling collection for the Village of Tide Head.
Recycling will start the week of August 10th for Tide Head therefore Friday August 14th only the blue bins will be collected.

Due to the step back of the COVID-19 Recovery plan, the start of RECYCLING that was due to start on June 8th has been delayed. Once we return to the Yellow Phase, we will be able to provide a new start-up date. The health and safety of our population is of utmost importance.
Recycling will start the week of June 15th for Tide Head therefore Friday June 19th only the blue bins will be collected.
All items for spring clean up must be place by the curb by Monday evening May 18th. The last day the maintenance crew will be collecting items will be Tuesday May 19th. They will be going around the Village only once. Therefore, if items are placed by the curb Tuesday and they have already collected on your street, your items will not be picked up and will have to be disposed of at your own expense.
The municipal office and workshop are now open to the public. We ask that you do not enter the building if you are experiencing any symptoms (fever above 38 degree Celsius or signs of fever, a new or worsening chronic cough, a sore throat, a runny nose, a headache, new onset fatigue, new onset muscle pain, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell) or have travelled outside the province. Social distancing is to be respected (2 meters) and no social gatherings are allowed inside. Due to the small entrance of the municipal office only one customer at a time will be allowed in.
The Spring Clean-up will take place from May 11 to May 19, 2020. Leaves & yard waste must be placed in clear plastic bags or preferably paper bags. Branches and boards must be tied in bundles no longer than 4′ in length. Propane tanks, gas cylinders, paint cans, construction waste will not be picked up. Propane tanks or gas cylinders must be brought to the Restigouche Solid Waste transfer station. Tires must be brought to your tire dealer and paint cans at Marina Bottle Exchange on Boom Lane in Atholville. You must dispose of construction waste at your own expense at the transfer station. A fee of $40.00 will be charged to pick up refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners for the cost of removing the refrigerant. Please call the Village office (789-6550) to make arrangements to have these items collected.
If you are out for a walk with your pets please pick up after them. Our sidewalks have been swept a few times however, it has been noticed that there are still feces on them. Not picking up after your pet is a violation of the Animal By-Law and you can be fined. For more information please view the By-Law on the website. We thank you for your cooperation 🙂
