Rink Building Closure

Since the Province is moving to orange phase as of midnight tonight the rink building will be closed until our region is back in the yellow phase.  The ice surface will still be maintained for anyone to use.  We ask to please wear a mask and to please stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms or are required to self isolate. Stay safe and healthy 🙂

Rink Season 2020/2021

The rink will be opening for the season this Friday December 18th. We have new protocols in place due to COVID and are asking for everyone’s cooperation in order to be able to keep the building open for everyone to enjoy. We are asking to please not use the facility if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms, have been outside the Province, have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID or have been told by public health that you may have been exposed.  Below are the new rules for the usage of the building.

  • Masks are mandatory in the building.
  • Sanitize your hands when entering the building.
  • Sign in with Rémi for our records in the event it is required from the Department of Health.
  • Physical distancing of one meter must be respected. If you are eating or drinking you must be seated with a two meter physical distance.
  • A maximum of 6 people per changing room is allowed, with the exception of members of the same family “bubble”.
  • No loitering allowed. The main usage for the building is to put skates on and off and to warm up.
  • In the event our Zone is in orange or red phase, the recreation center will be closed.

Recycling on hold

Due to the step back of the COVID-19 Recovery plan,  the start of RECYCLING that was due to start on June 8th has been delayed. Once we return to the Yellow Phase, we will be able to provide a new start-up date. The health and safety of our population is of utmost importance.

Municipal office and workshop now open to the public

The municipal office and workshop are now open to the public. We ask that you do not enter the building if you are experiencing any symptoms (fever above 38 degree Celsius or signs of fever, a new or worsening chronic cough, a sore throat, a runny nose, a headache, new onset fatigue, new onset muscle pain, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell) or have travelled outside the province. Social distancing is to be respected (2 meters) and no social gatherings are allowed inside. Due to the small entrance of the municipal office only one customer at a time will be allowed in.

If you are out for a walk with your pets please pick up after them. Our sidewalks have been swept a few times however, it has been noticed that there are still feces on them. Not picking up after your pet is a violation of the Animal By-Law and you can be fined. For more information please view the By-Law on the website. We thank you for your cooperation 🙂

Boil water advisory lifted

The boil water advisory that was issued by the Department of Health is now lifted. It is no longer necessary to boil the water before consumption.

The Village of Tide Head would like to apologize for any inconvenience the situation may have caused.

Boil water advisory

A boil water advisory has been ordered by the Department of Health on the Village of Tide Head. During a boil water advisory it is important that all water destined for drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, making ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking and dental hygiene be held at a rolling boil for 1 minute. Unless advised differently by the Department of Health, under most circumstances it is not necessary to boil water used for other household purposes. Adults, adolescents and older children may shower, bathe or wash using tap water but should avoid swallowing the water. Toddlers and infants should be sponged bathed and caregivers need to ensure no water is drunk or swallowed. Dishes and laundry may be washed in tap water, either by hand or by machine, unless advised differently by a Department of Health representative.”
